Did I mention that I love this kid?

Saturday mornings is my time to sleep in after getting up between 4:15-4:30 Monday thru Friday and it is a welcome site to see 8:30 or if I am really lucky 9:00 on the clock!  Riley and Daddy usually come bounding in to wake me up and when I awoke on Saturday I couldn't help but laugh out loud at what Daddy had dressed Riley in.  Apparently Riley had a little fun with Deuce's water bowl and Daddy had to change him...see for yourself!

Speaking of funny while Daddy was working at his first home show convention on Saturday Riley and I had tons of fun playing, learning (he now points to his ear, eyes, mouth, and nose on command) and dancing to the music.  We even got some cleaning in!  While I was finishing up the dishes I knew it was way to quiet in the house and this is where I found my Little Man...

It took me quite awhile to coax him outta there so we could run some errands!  

             What a fabulous weekend of sunshine and fun!  Not much more I could ask for!

Riley Frame

I found a great website that makes name frames for babies, wedding, families etc.  I ordered one for Riley and was so excited when it came.  It is so sweet and will look great on his walls!  I also can't hardly wait for the 2 paintings I ordered from Ashley at the Busy Brush (see her website under fave links).  She has texted me a few pictures of them and they are fabulous!  Here is Riley with his new frame!  

It is sooo cute!  

This frame is heavy duty and Riley was uber excited when he saw it.  When we point to him in a picture he gets really happy and says "yayayay" and then points to himself so when I said "see it says Riley" he couldn't help but point to himself with a huge grin on his little face!

Purple Pride

So I have finally come to terms with the fact that the Vikes will not be in the Super Bowl this year : (  We stayed up and watched until they did the locker room interviews and were devastated on Sunday night.  It was quite the nailbiter of a game and Riley really enjoyed throwing his hands up and saying "touchdown" unfortunately he would say that and we would fumble the ball on the 2 yard line or the 4 yard line...Life goes on and we are impressed with the season they had.  Favre took a lot of hits in the game and I am guessing he will be feeling a lot worse than we ever will! I am really really hoping he comes back for next year because this is the best Vikes team I have ever seen!  The funny thing about football is that we just love to watch it!  It doesn't matter who is playing we always seem to have a game on.  I really hope Drew Brees and his Saints go all the way and we are still looking forward to the BIG game!  So here's to next year and another big season!

Riley's latest and greatest

Riley is learning so much these days and he is saying the cutest things ever!  He loves to say "uh-oh" whenever he drops anything or when he trips.  Sometimes we are pretty sure he drops a toy just to say it over and over.  If we aren't looking at him he walks up to us and puts his little face right in front of ours and says "uh-oh" for a little recognition : ) 

He is also running around with his little football, throwing his hands up in the air and saying "touchdown."   Unfortunately it didn't help the Vikes much on Sunday.  Speaking of Vikes we asked Riley where the Vikings were and he pointed to the TV and then to the newspaper where they were headlining! 

He also will hold out his hand and say "hot" when he is asking if his food is hot or if he should stay away from the oven.  We were cooking dinner last night and he needed to be held so that he could keep an eye and hand very close so he could practice "hot."

He loves to grab things he knows he shouldn't, like my purse or the remote and then hand them back to us like a goodboy so he can clap his little hands together. 

He is a babbling man right now and he just keeps repeating the same syllables over and over again as if that will help us decipher what he is trying to say.  It is ridiculously cute and he keeps us laughing! 

He even has some new dance moves that show very good rhythm.  I did catch a few on video and now just need to figure out how to upload them! Happy learning Riley!  You make us proud little man!

New Life Sunday

This Sunday at church was New Life Sunday.  New Life Family Services right in Anoka was the guest speaker and the director brought along with her a very powerful video testimony of Ashley a 23-year-old who chose life for her unborn daughter.  It brought me to tears and her decision to give her daughter up for adoption albeit a very difficult one was tremendously courageous and self-less.  The statistics on abortion are staggering and I really feel a calling to help those in need of support and I am going to look into volunteer challenges they offer at New Life.  We have been so blessed by Riley and watching him grow and I can only stand in awe of the life God intended for him and all of the potential he holds.  

Exciting new start for Derrick

Derrick very quietly went into work early Wednesday morning and told his manager that he was quitting.  He didn't want to sell anything before his end date that he wouldn't get paid for so Monday he called in, Tuesday his boss called and told him he could have the day off and the rest of the week was a huge jumble of nerves and little sleep.  You see Derrick is a worrier and even though we have thoroughly thought this job switch thing over and talked numerous times about it he just can't relax until he is in the mix selling and making money.  His nervous energy let to dishes that were done, a house that was vacuumed and dinner in the oven or in the crockpot every night!  He is leaving CRI in Lino Lakes after nearly 5 years with the company.  He is moving over to MEI in Osseo.  MEI offers great prospects for D and I can't wait to see where this leads him.  He is going to have to work pretty hard for the first few months to establish himself but the benefits include an office (with a desk : ), company cell phone and eventually benefits, weekly base pay and car allowance!  He will be making his own schedule and no longer have to go to the office in the a.m.'s for meetings.  MEI has a showroom so he will for the first time in 5 years be able to tell his customers to come into the showroom to see the products up close and life size instead of the little demo pieces of shingles, siding and gutters he usually stores in his car that have drove me nutso for a long time.  His fresh new start is official on Monday and I am hoping Sunday is his last night of restless sleep!  Goodbye CRI, Hello MEI! 

Welcome to our new family site!

I have been dragging my feet on creating a new family site that I can actually look at at work since Shutterfly is now internet contraban.  I also have been really bad about posting lately because I think it's become too much of a chore so I am hoping this new easy to update blog helps me with that!  I also will try not bore anyone with the mundane details of our day to day life in the process so here it is!
